Mandela Day 2015

Mandela Day was launched in 2009 via a unanimous decision of the United Nations General Assembly. Every year, on the 18th of July – the day of Nelson Mandela’s birthday, all individuals are urged to spend just 67 minutes giving back to their community in some way. The 67 minutes are symbolic of the 67 years that Nelson Mandela spent fighting for social justice and the drive itself is intended to instill the idea that every individual has the power to change the world for the better.

In support of Mandela Day 2015, the Pentel South Africa team took part in the Stop Hunger Now Southern Africa – One Million Meals initiative at the Sandton Convention Centre.

In 67 minutes our team was able to pack 33 boxes that will feed approximately 4 800 individuals. It was truly a great initiative to be a part of, and we had loads of fun giving back to our community.
